More Eastern Blooms

Are you wishing I'd move on to another stamp set?? Today at the open house we made a card using both Eastern Blooms and Heard from the Heart...again! They are both just so beautiful, and have I mentioned that they are on sale??!! This card also uses Haiku DSP which you already know how much I love! Have you checked out the Hidden Garden Rub-Ons? They perfectly coordinate with Eastern Blooms and...what a surprise...the Haiku DSP! I love that SU! has designers with brains that work this way. It makes things so EASY for me (and you too). How perfect is that?? Speaking of Haiku DSP, several of us were inspired to write Haiku while at Convention earlier this month. My dear friend and (separated from birth) twin, Lydia, posted them on her blog. At first I had a hard time coming up with one, and then...like magic...I was inspired to write two! Who knew?? Scroll down to read all the fun Haiku here.

Open House

Tomorrow I'm hostessing an Open House to feature all the new products and fun toys from Stampin' Up! It will be a mystery hostess event. This means that someone attending the open house will get FREE STAMPS and other stampin' supplies! Details on my Stampin Up! website here! Come and get yourself some stamp sets that are on sale, like Eastern Blooms or Heard from the Heart (or both - hey they are on sale!). Here's another sample using both of them:

Details: Bashful Blue, Pacific Point Blue, Whisper White Cardstock; Pacific Point Blue Classic Ink; Ice Circle Rhinestones; Taffeta Ribbon (but not Pacific Point!) This is actually White Taffeta Ribbon which has conveniently been dyed Pacific Point Blue! How fun is that?? This card was inspired from a sample on the Art from the Heart CD I purchased at convention. There are tons of samples on that CD...and so little time to copy them! I better get busy!

Also tomorrow we will be playing with the Big Shot by Sizzix!!! This is a fun toy! The possibilities are endless!

Don't miss out on the fun! Hope to see you there!

Say it with Scallops

Here's another card we made at Jenice's workshop on Sunday.  It uses this year's Ronald McDonald House stamp set - Say it with Scallops.  I just love it because it conveniently coordinates with the new square scallop punch and because it is so fun!  Also, we all received this stamp set free at convention!  And, I really love FREE STAMPS!  I also used All Scallops on this card because, well it also coordinates with Say it with Scallops and the other new scallop punch!

My original design wasn't nearly as fun as this one.  I originally just layered a 1 3/8" Kiwi Kiss square under the scalloped square, but someone punched out a scalloped Kiwi Kiss square and layered it like this...so I just had to copy!  This color combination was inspired by the Urban Garden Designer Series Paper colors: Kiwi Kiss, Baha Blue and Not Quite Navy!

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school for my babies. I guess at some point I have to stop calling them babies...2nd and 4th grade probably constitutes as somewhat grown, but I just can't help it!

Emma was pretty excited this morning to start 4th grade, Parker was less than thrilled, but I did finally get him to smile for this picture. Fortunately, after the day was over Parker did say that he "likes second grade." Hooray - hope it lasts! Emma thinks this is going to be a "great year!" She so loves school!

Jenice's workshop was yesterday and everyone really liked this card we made. Betty even said it was the most beautiful card she's ever made! Even better - it is so easy! My favorite kind of card, easy and beautiful. Hope you like it too!

This uses Eastern Blooms and Heard from the Heart stamp sets...both conveniently 15% off until the end of September. Check out the flyer on the left for more stamps on sale! It also uses Haiku Designer Series Paper which is quite gorgeous! Other supplies: So Saffron, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White cardstock; So Saffron Classic Ink, Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker; Tangerine Tango striped ribbon and Orange Bead Duos! I was inspired by a project we made at convention using beads with this image. I may need to work on my photo taking abilities, it looks a bit blurry to me!

Sweeter than Apple Pie

Here's another card done with Tart and Tangy, the sentiment comes from One Smart Cookie! This was another card made during Card Club a few months ago.

P3290059_edited

This round of Card Club ended this month and the ladies decided to start a Stamp Club next month. We still have room for more if you are interested. Stamp Club (or any club really) is a great way to gradually build your supplies. 5+ of us get together and make 3 stamped projects. I usually incorporate more advanced techniques and one of the projects is typically a 3-D project. Each member commits to purchasing at least $30 in stampin' supplies each month and everyone takes a turn being the hostess. Being a hostess means FREE STAMPS!!! In Card Club, we made 2 each of 3 different card designs. A great way to have cards ready for when you need them. And if you are a "hoarder" like me, you have one card to keep and one to give away! Do you have a group of friends who love to stamp and papercraft? Join a club or start one of your own - 5 stamp-a-holics are that is needed to start!

Pictures??

I'm so not technologically aware and have had to slack on posting because I couldn't figure out how to add a photo with a watermark. Now that I have figured it out (I hope), I'm ready to start posting more regularly!

Still not exactly what I had in mind, but it is a start. This card we did a few months ago in Card Club. It uses the stamp sets Enjoy Everything and Tart and Tangy. The chunky glitter on the orange just makes me smile! It totally reminds me of sugar on the fruit slices candy! Yum, yum!! I've chosen this card because it has reappeared in the fantastic Fall-Winter Idea Book and Catalog, along with the Designer Series Paper - Summer Picnic. It is so fun!! So, enjoy my first post with a sample! Here's to many, many more! :-)

Hello

Everybody's doing it, and now so am I!! I have succumbed to the peer pressure! Many of my friends have blogs...and so many papercrafters have blogs that are just fantastic. Mine will evolve...so keep your expectations low for now!! With this blog, I hope to keep my stampin' friends more up date on the happenings in the stampin' world and to convert my non stampin' friends into crazy addicted stampers!! Hee, hee! I'm not very technologically savvy, so this will be a huge learning process for me. If you have tips or ideas...or any feedback really...just let me know!
